Sr. Engineer



Job Description

Safety Compliance - Ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety, factory, environmental, and fire-safety regulations.

Workplace Safety - Conduct daily/periodic safety inspections of production areas, machinery, utilities, warehouses, and offices. Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Accident & Incident Management - Investigate accidents, near misses, unsafe occurrences, and occupational incidents. Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Fire & Emergency Preparedness - Ensure availability and inspection of fire extinguishers, hydrants, fire alarms, emergency exits, and other firefighting systems. Organize fire drills, emergency evacuation drills, and mock exercises.

Training & Awareness - Conduct safety induction training for new employees, contractors, and visitors. Provide training on PPE, machine safety, fire safety, electrical safety, chemical handling, working at height, confined spaces, and emergency procedures.

PPE Management - Identify PPE requirements based on workplace hazards. Monitor employee compliance with PPE requirements.

Contractor & Vendor Safety - Monitor safety practices of contractors working inside the plant, Verify contractor safety documentation, training, PPE, work permits, and competency. Ensure compliance with permit-to-work requirements for activities such as hot work, work at height, confined-space entry, and electrical work.

Machine & Process Safety - Inspect machine guards, interlocks, emergency stops, sensors, and safety devices. Support implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable.

Environmental & Occupational Health Support - Support monitoring of workplace hazards such as noise, dust, fumes, heat, and chemicals. Assist in waste management and environmental compliance activities as assigned.

Safety Audits & Continuous Improvement Conduct internal safety audits and participate in external/customer audits. Improve safety performance through engineering controls, administrative controls, and behavioral safety initiatives.

Skills Required

Diploma in Industrial Safety

Preferred Experience of minimum 8 years to maximum 10 years

Knowledge of factory safety legislation, fire safety, electrical safety, and occupational health.

Knowledge of HIRA, JSA, RCA, CAPA, LOTO, PTW, PPE, and emergency response.

Should have technical know how in electrical and mechanical fields for doing the root cause analysis of cases reported.

Ability to work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, HR, and contractor teams.

Good communication and training skills.

Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and safety reporting systems.

Maintain accident statistics and prepare safety performance reports. Track closure of safety observations and corrective actions.

Conduct toolbox talks and regular safety awareness programs

Prepare safety dashboards and management reports.
